The first meeting of Dutch, German and Polish teachers from the border regions of Netherlands-Germany and Poland-Germany took place in Angermünde located in Brandenburg as well as Papenburg in Lower Saxony. Both meetings focused on career orientation and regional economic areas. Meanwhile, the work of the teachers focused on the development of approaches for the content and methodological integration of the topic „Nearby Border Region“ and „Internationalization“ into the school career orientation.

The teachers of both teams first exchanged views on how vocational orientation is currently being implemented in their schools and how practical contacts in their schools are integrated into job-oriented measures. The faculty and the teachers then worked together to develop an analysis framework for the economic regions, which serves as a basis for describing the regions and their potential for working with students. Taking a further step, the neighboring economic regions are compared with each other and the approaches for the integration of cross-border vocational orientation are elaborated.

Practice contacts will play an important role in the progress of the IMPULS project in the future. Therefore, the lecturers presented different methods and didactic methods of practice contacts and showed how they can be used in vocational orientation. For instance, the German-Dutch group tested one of the methods (company exploration) in the company KS Gleitlager GmbH.

The first meeting of teachers in both border regions took place as part of a teacher training course. It comprises a total of six meetings in both border regions. The concept of one-year training in both regions was provided, developed and realized by lecturers from the university representatives from the Netherlands (SAXION, ROC van Twente), Poland (Wojewódzki Ośrodek Metodyczny w Gorzowie Wielkopolskim oraz Lubuskie Kuratorium Oświaty) and Germany (Institut für Ökonomische Bildung). In the teacher training, mobility of students in the German-Dutch and in the German-Polish border region is implemented. The teacher representatives in German-Dutch team are from the schools including: Michaelschule Papenburg, Berufskolleg EnnepetalStichting openbaar voortgezet onderwijz De Waerdenborch.
