From 10. until 11. Januar 2013 took place the second meeting of teachers from German and Dutch schools. The focus was the analysis of the German-Dutch border region, in which the German (Papenburg and Ennepetal) and the Dutch schools (Holten) are located. The teachers presented their analysis of the economic areas and discussed how they differed from each other and what potential for school career orientation could be derived from them. The representative of Euregio, Herman Lammers, presented the economic regions and their potentials from the point of view of the economic representative. Together with the teachers, he discussed aspects that should be considered in career orientation.

The second part of the event focused on practice contacts and their methodological-didactic orientation as well as the school-organizational realization. The teachers dealt with how to pre-process, follow-up and carry out practice contacts and evaluate the achieved learning outcomes. Afterwards, this knowledge was exemplified, tested and reflected by the enterprise exploration in companies “Aebi Schmidt” in terms of teaching involvement and realization.

Since practice contacts presuppose the networks between schools and the regional economy, the meeting in Holten rounded off an exchange of experiences on the possibilities and tried-and-tested approaches to network building in schools.

At the meeting in the German-Dutch team participated: Michaelschule Papenburg, Berufskolleg Ennepetal des Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreises, Stichting openbaar voortgezet onderwijz De Waerdenborch (Hosts) as well as lecturers Saxion Hogeschool EnschedeROC van Twente College voor Educatie Zuid and the Institut für Ökonomische Bildung (Project coordinator).
